2019 saw a lot of Punjabi song remakes in Bollywood. While some went down very well with the Punjabi music lovers, others received a severe backlash. Today, Jasbir Jassi’s ‘Koka’ song in a remake version got released in the ‘Khandaani Shafakhana’. The movie stars Sonakshi Sinha, Varun Sharma and Badshah. Earlier this year, ‘Laung Laachi’ had its remake in ‘Luka Chuppi’ which was disappointing. Then Garry Sandhu‘s Yeah Baby had its remake in ‘De De Pyaar De’. And now, recently, Intense made a tweet of having Jasmine Sandlas’s song ‘Sip Sip’ as a remake version in Bollywood.

Sometimes, this makes us feel that Bollywood is lacking the originality of lyrics for songs, as they end up remaking so many hit Punjabi songs in Bollywood. A remake is a different thing but not doing justice with these chartbuster Punjabi songs is very heartbreaking. What do you think about this? Do let us know in the comment section below.
Till then, let’s just keep our fingers crossed that Bollywood keeps this one at a better level than the recent remakes that have majorly been a disappointment.
