These Pollywood stars are making big in Bollywood. Deets inside!

Punjabi film industry is undoubtedly working hard enough to make its space amidst the entertainment industry. They are coming up with new talents, story plots and music pieces everyday. Pollywood is aiming to be distinctive like Bollywood. And it won’t be wrong if we mentioned that even Bollywood needs the elements from Punjabi industry in order to be a completely successful package of entertainment. It is not new that a lot of punjabi tadka is being added to Bollywood projects. There are various Punjabi celebs who are popular not only in Pollywood but are making big in Bollywood as well.
Diljit Dosanjh, Jassie Gill, Ammy Virk, B Praak, Sonam Bajwa, Harrdy Sandhu are a few names among Bollywood’s new discoveries.
Diljit Dosanjh made his debut in Bollywood with ‘Udta Punjab‘ in 2016, which was a big hit. He was appreciated for his role as a hard working police officer. He was presented with “The Filmfare Award for Best Male Debut” and also received “The IIFA Award for Star Debut of the Year – Male“. After which he was seen in other Bollywood movies, titled, ‘Phillauri‘, ‘Welcome to New York’ and ‘Soorma‘. He also starred in and as ‘Arjun Patiala‘, which was a spoof on the basic Bollywood films. And now he’s all set to rock your screens with his upcoming venture, ‘Good News‘, opposite Kiara Advani, co-starring Kareena Kapoor Khan and Akshay Kumar.
Jassie Gill is yet another big name in the process. He made his debut in Bollywood opposite Sonakshi Sinha with ‘Happy Phir Bhaag Jaayegi‘. ‘Panga‘ starring him and Kangana Ranaut is the next much awaited release, that is scheduled to hit the theatres in January 2020. He is also shooting for another Bollywood film, ‘Sonam Gupta Bewafa Hai‘, which is going to be ‘Naagin 3‘ fame, Surbhi Jyoti‘s debut movie.
Talking about Ammy Virk and Harrdy Sandhu. They both are debuting in Bollywood with the much anticipated movie, ’83: the film. The movie is based on the legendary cricketer Kapil Dev and the ‘1983 World Cup‘, where both our Punjabi celebs are playing characters of the fellow cricketers of the Indian Cricket Team. Also, Ammy Virk is a part of the super six of Ajay Devgn‘s film ‘Bhuj: The Pride of India‘. He will be seen playing a major role in the film. Ammy will feature as a fighter pilot who played a very crucial role in the 1971 Indo-Pak war.
On the other hand, even the Punjabi singers and musicians are making it grand in Bollywood. Harrdy Sandhu and B Praak are, therefore, such names, who are now on every Bollywood music director’s list. After B Praak‘s record breaking hit ‘Teri Mitti” from Kesari, he then composed another song ‘Pachtoage‘ sung by Arijit Singh. He also gave his voice for the recreated version of ‘O Saki Saki’ from the film, ‘Batla House’.
Whereas, Harrdy Sandhu recently created a new version of his own song, “Naah” for Ayushmann Khurrana‘s upcoming movie ‘Bala‘, starring himself, Ayushmann and Punjab’s one of the most popular female face, Sonam Bajwa. Also he has also made a track for Karan Johar‘s ‘Good News‘, starring Kareena Kapoor Khan, Akshay Kumar, Diljit Dosanjh and Kiara Advani.
Furthermore, Sonam Bajwa started working in Bollywood with Harrdy’s song “Naah Goriye” for ‘Bala‘. Apart from this, she is also a part of Remo D’Souza‘s directorial venture ‘Street Dancer‘ starring, Shraddha Kapoor, Varun Dhawan and Aparshakti Khurrana.
