Ayushmann Khurrana needs no introduction in the Bollywood Industry. Right from the beginning of his career, the actor proved his acting skills in his debut film ‘Vicky Donor’. Ayushmann always focused on content driven movies or movies that broke social taboos. Recently, he was appreciated for his movies, ‘Andhadhun’ and ‘Badhaai Ho’.
In 2017 Ayushmann did a movie with Bhumi Padnekar titled, Shubh Mangal Savdhaan. The movie was focused on a very touchy subject of erectile dysfunction. With a tint of comedy in it, Subh Mangal Savdhaan was much appreciated by the audience. Now the producer Aanand L Rai is planning for its sequel titled as ‘Subh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan’. This time the movie supposedly has a story of a father learning his son’s sexuality.
Recently, the teaser of Subh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan is released which shows us the gay love. The teaser of the film gives a humorous touch to a very sensitive topic. The teaser starts with introducing many love stories from history. It depicts the stories which started in the past from Romeo Juliet to the Bollywood love of Raj and Simran from DDLJ.
Ayushmann took to his social media handle to share the teaser of the film which looks amazing. He captioned it as,
“Shubh Mangal saavdhan ki safalta ke baad, hum la rahe hain,
Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan
Hum mehnat zyada kar lengey
Aap pyar thoda zyada de dijiyega”
Check out the post:
Ayushmann is set to return as the lead, playing what is still considered a brave role for male actors in Bollywood: that of a gay man. Bhumi is not expected to return. Mirzapur actor Divyendu Sharma has been roped in to play the pivotal role of Ayushmann’s partner.
Talking about the film, which Ayushmann addresses as an “out and out entertainer”, the actor added in a statement, “It is a beautiful story told in the quintessential Aanand L. Rai style of filmmaking that will touch your hearts and leave a smile on your face. It is one of the most brilliant films that I have read in a long time and it handles the subject of homosexuality really sensitively. It’s a pleasure to collaborate again with the master storyteller of our times. This is an out and out entertaining film that will also make you think and that’s the hallmark of good cinema,”
Meanwhile, Aanand L Rai expressed how the success of ‘Shubh Mangal Savdhaan’ encouraged them to address more subjects which are considered to be a taboo in the society and turn this into a franchise. He also added that there was no one better than Ayushmann for the role, “With …Zyada Saavdhan, we have a great story in hand and who better, but Ayushmann to play the lead since he brings a whole new level of expression to the table. Hope audiences enjoy it as much as the first film.”
On the work front, Ayushmann and Bhumi are all set to return together in Stree-director Amar Kaushik’s next Bala, which started shooting recently.
The teaser looks extremely promising and has the typical essence of an Ayushmann film. The film is set to go on floors in September.
I’m sure like me Ayushmann fans can’t wait to see the trailer of the movie. Hope to see the trailer dropping soon.
