Shahid Kapoor and Mrunal Thakur to pair together for ‘Jersey’!

After the big success of ‘Kabir Singh‘, Shahid Kapoor has been shortlisted for the Hindi remake of a Telugu hit, ‘Jersey‘. The movie will be holding the same name as the Telugu film. The remake of the film is to be directed by the same director who helmed the Telugu film, originally, Gowtam Tinnanuri. According to the sources, Gowtam decided to make a Hindi remake of ‘Jersey‘ right after its successful innings at the box-office in the south. Also when he saw Shahid Kapoor in his last movie, ‘Kabir Singh‘, he made up his mind and was very sure that only Shahid will be playing the main lead in his film.
However, the details of the female lead were still to be shared, but according to the sources and speculations, Mrunal Thakur is the name to be seen in the film with Shahid Kapoor. After Mrunal‘s amazing performances in movies like Super 30 and Batla House, she’s is now ready to rock the big screen with Shahid Kapoor in ‘Jersey’.
Mrunal seems to be extremely overwhelmed with the news and she certainly is quite happy with the fact that she’s watched the original film. She says that she was bowled over by the movie’s passionate and emotional journey.
On the work front, Shahid was last seen in ‘Kabir Singh‘ opposite Kiara Advani, while Mrunal has been quite popular lately, after her clap-worthy performances in movies like, Super 30 and Batla House. She’s made her mark in the industry and is worth of a lot more such work.
If we look at both the stars, they have really worked hard to make it through. Where Shahid seemed to struggle a bit with his career, after his break up with Kareena Kapoor Khan. Mrunal had a tough time as she was a part of the Indian Television industry and then got her break in the Film industry with Hrithik Roshan‘s ‘Super 30‘.
We hope that Hindi remake of ‘Jersey‘ turns out to be as amazing as the original film. What did you think about the news? Do let us know in the comment section below.
