The Ok Jaanu actor was also recently quoted saying, “It is a physically demanding film. But it is an inspiring story as so many people look up to her. I feel grateful to be playing that part. I will begin shooting for it next month and the prep is on. I am having a great time playing badminton. It is fabulous to be part of such a great story.”
At being asked if she’s now conquered the game of biopics after playing the role of gangster sister Haseena Parkar, Shraddha said, “I don’t know that. I am trying to. It is the second most difficult sport in the world. It is not easy.”
She is being said to have been pushing herself to the maximum for Saaho, the Saina Nehwal biopic and whatever the demand of the role she’s required to play may be.
Shraddha has been reportedly preparing for the film by training under former badminton player Pullela Gopichand. Reports ensued that the film was delayed as the actress struggled to pick up the nuances of the game for the movie.
After numerous rumors of the film being shelved made rounds, Gupte cleared the air saying that he has already given two-and-a-half years of his life to this project and has no intention of backing out. He said that he was quite satisfied with the pace of the movie and that there was a lot of preparation required for it.
The movie is expected to release sometime in 2019.
