“Saand Ki Aankh” Teaser: Taapsee Pannu and Bhumi Pednekar look fierce as Shooter Daadis!

We all know Taapsee Pannu and Bhumi Pednekar are two gems of Bollywood Industry. Earlier this year, Taapsee and Bhumi unveiled their first look from the upcoming film, Saand Ki Aankh. It impressed everyone instantly. In the poster, both the talented actors are in never-seen-before avatars. Donning older women look with a wrinkled face and grey hair, both looked spectacular. In the biopic, Taapsee and Bhumi will play the roles of Prakashi Tomar and Chandro Tomar who are famous as Shooter Daadis.
About the Teaser:
The teaser begins with a slow-motion shot of the two walking down, immediately giving viewers a sense of the duo’s no-nonsense, bad-a** attitude. Hailing from a remote Indian village in Uttar Pradesh, the two women are shown oscillating between a strict, orthodox household, which demands women to cover their faces. What follows are glimpses of how the Tomar sisters’ success in the professional world faces criticism by conservative family values at home but they rise above all with their bonding and determination.
We then see Taapsee and Bhumi, like old women, learning shooting from Vineet Kumar Singh who essays the role of their tutor Dr. Yashpal. When he asks them to focus on the target, invoking the fish’s eye from Mahabharata, Taapsee says,
“Na Dactar, manne machli ki aankh na dikhe, manne to dikhe hai ‘saand ki aankh’, kyu Jiji (No doctor, I don’t see the fish’s eye, I only see the bull’s eye)?” and Bhumi responds, “Wo kya kehte hain angreji me, Bull’s eye.”
The Tomar sisters have the credits for changing the social scenario for women in Uttar Pradesh with their achievements.
