#MeToo Movement fires on, shoot for Housefull 4 halts as Akshay sends out statement.

As the Me Too movement is gaining momentum across the world and especially India, many celebrities are coming under fire through allegations of misbehavior or sexual misconduct by many women. All these cases are garnering the deserved attention and action against the accused. Be it the Tanushree Dutta and Nana Patekar case, or the accusations on the AIB (All India Bakchod) crew consisting of Utsav Chakraborty, Tanmay Bhatt, and Gursimran Khamba.
Similar accusations have also been made against director Sajid Khan by three women, Two actors and a journalist, which has promptly caused the halt for the shoot of his upcoming film ‘Housefull 4’ of the Housefull movies franchise. The accusations led to the release of a statement by the lead actor of the film, Akshay Kumar stating that he refuses to work with anyone even remotely associated with sexual misconduct with women.

The making of the film was stopped abruptly followed by Sajid stepping down as the director for the film. Nana Patekar, who was also a part of this film has also taken out of the movie. The accusers have accused Khan of sexual harassment and inappropriate behaviour, detailing their accounts on social media. The journalist, in a tweet accused Sajid of exposing his genitalia to her.
Actor Saloni Chopra recounted that he would only talk of his genitalia when she worked as an assistant director with him. “He’d talk about his dick and how big it apparently is and his sexual needs. He would ask me to touch his dick and get irritated with me when I said I didn’t want to,” she wrote in a blog post.
The second actor, Rachel White, shared that Sajid Khan called her into his bedroom, stared at her breasts and then allegedly told her that the role in a film would be hers if she could seduce him in five minutes.
Akshay Kumar’s wife, actor Twinkle Khanna also tweeted out to the makers of Housefull 4 to take a firm stance on the issue.
Appalled hearing multiple incidents of harassment and it is truly horrific to hear what these women have been through. Everyone involved in Housefull needs to take a firm stance on this issue. This cannot go on.
