Jassie Gill becomes the first Punjabi star to be a part of Twitter India’s #Powerof18

2018 was a turning point for Jassie Gill. He made his Bollywood debut opposite Sonakshi Sinha in Happy Phirr Bhag Jayegi, his Pollywood movie “Sargi” was also well received by Punjabi audience. And not to forget his collaboration with Neha Kakkar which gave us one of the most hit song of the year “Nikle Currant“.
While Jassie Gill is basking in the glory, he becomes the first and the only Punjabi star to be part of Twitter India’s campaign “POWER OF 18”
For those who are not aware, #PowerOf18 is a social initiative by Twitter India, aimed at encouraging the youth of India to contribute to public debate and participate in civic engagement in the upcoming election season. Supported by Twitter’s mission to serve the public conversation, the initiative was launched by Jack Dorsey, CEO & Co-Founder, Twitter and Maya Hari, Vice-President & Managing Director, Asia Pacific, Twitter.
Yesterday, Jassie Gill shared a video supporting this campaign. When asked about his message for the Youth, this is what the singer had to say:
Alot of people complain about the government not doing this and that, I feel like that power belongs to you. You should vote for people who you think will be the best. The youth should come forward and join politics. Voting is the biggest power that you should use and you can make a better country.
