Here are 5 productive things to do when you’re bored

Feeling bored and restless? Having free time is the perfect opportunity to get ahead. Life is so busy, and we are constantly fighting to keep up. If you find yourself with some extra time and want to spend it being productive, first of all, go you. Second of all, you’re in the right place. Be ready to get rid of your boredom and feel inspired. Here are 5 things to do when you’re bored.
Read a book that’s been sitting on your shelf for a while:
If you’re anything like me, you have unread books on your shelf that have been pleading to be read, but you just haven’t gotten around to it. Dust one off and get lost for a while.
Tidy closet and drawer:
Something that always makes me feel so happy is taking some time to go through my drawers and closet and tidying up. Inevitably during the weekly hustle your nicely folded clothes and organized hanging clothes go through a battering.
Refold clothes in your drawers, collect the empty hangers in your closet and reorganize how your clothes are hung. It’s like a breath of fresh air the next time you go to get dressed. Don’t underestimate this productive thing to do when you’re bored.
Plan out the next week in your planner:
Get ahead! Plan out your next week, update your digital calendar, and make your list of to do’s for next week. It’s a good habit to think beforehand and it’ll help you stay sorted and organized all through the week.
Tackle a project you’ve put off:
You know that project you’ve been putting off for months for no good reason? Today is the day, friend. Tackle that project, and you’re going to feel mega productive.
Declutter your computer:
I can pretty much guarantee that your computer is full of junk you haven’t cleaned out in a long time. Give your digital life a cleanse. Emails, documents, files, folders, pictures, and random lists clutter our digital lives. Sometimes our digital lives get way more out of control than we even realize since all we need to do is close our laptops to not see the mess anymore. But keeping your digital lives decluttered is just as important as keeping your home decluttered.
Being bored is such a great opportunity to do something your future self will thank you for. Utilize your downtime to get ahead.
