Harjeeta makes us proud! Ammy Virk starrer film bags National Award in Best Punjabi Film Category

The Ammy Virk starrer ‘Harjeeta’ has bagged the Best Punjabi Film title in the 66th National Film Awards. Written by Jagdeep Sidhu and directed by Vijay Kumar Arora, ‘Harjeeta’ was released last year on May 18th. Although, the film didn’t receive a good response at the box-office. But after winning the National award, the film has undoubtedly recognized the labor put in together by the whole team.
Harjeeta portrayed the story of a young hockey player, Harjeet Singh Tuli, who was India’s captain in the Men’s Hockey Junior World Cup 2016. It was under Singh’s captaincy that India won the trophy after a wait of 2 decades.
For the movie, Ammy Virk worked very hard not just on the acting part, but also on matching the looks of the real Harjeeta. Ammy lost a lot of weight as he had to sport an athletic body. He broke every last drop of sweat to get the perfect abs as well. Also, he practiced for hours and spent time with real-time hockey players in their base camp so as to bring reality on the reel.
The director of the film Jagdeep Sidhu took to his social media to share his excitement. Ammy Virk also shared the screenshot of a message which was sent to him by the director after the film’s release.
