Bollywood pop singer Mika Singh who is known for hit songs like Jumme Ki Raat and Aankh Maare is in trouble. Recently, Mika was invited to perform along with a crew of 14 people in Karachi, Pakistan. The singer was captured singing at the wedding festivities of Pervez Musharraf’s close relative. Ever since the video of Mika Singh’s performance in Karachi went viral on social media, it sparked outrage among netizens. Mika faced severe backlash for his decision. Now a few days later, the singer has been banned by AICWA.
The film body All India Cine Workers Association (AICWA) released a statement on Tuesday. It said that they had boycotted the singer’s association with the film production houses, music companies and online music content providers.
In the matter, AICWA President Suresh Shyamlal Gupta passed a statement. He said, “AICWA takes a stand of boycotting all his association with movie production houses, music companies and online music content providers“. He also added, ”AICWA will make sure that no one in India works with Mika Singh and if anyone does, they will face legal consequences in the court of law.”

Furthermore, the film association said, “When the tension between the countries is at the peak, Mika Singh puts money above the nation’s pride”. Mika’s performance came right after the Indian government repealed Article 370, which revoked the special status given to Jammu and Kashmir. Moreover, certain reports alleged that Mika charged around USD 150,000 (Rs 1.06 crore) for the performance.
